A MAN CALLED OTTO is an interesting character study. It is based on a novel called A MAN CALLED OVE and the movie that was based on the book. The American adaptation changes thing from the original source material to adjust it to fit the US version (Ove becomes Otto) and the actor playing him (Tom Hanks). The movie follows a man called Otto who is forced into retirement and tries to end his life. The story traces the reason why and how interacting with the new neighbors across the way and the boy who delivers his paper changes him. Also a cat adopts Otto. The cat is a character I wish we saw more of in the A MAN CALLED OTTO and how Otto relates to the cat. We only get the main points and not a deep dive. I relate to Otto and how he relates to people (he doesn't have tolerance for stupid people or how the way people do things). I find him the most relatable character in the movie along with the cat which I felt we didn't get enough of. Otto's history and relationships are what drives the story. Tom Hanks made me want to watch the movie along with how Otto relates to the cat he doesn't want at first.

FINAL ANALYSIS: A MAN CALLED OTTO is a charming character study of a character I found very relatable and I wish we got more of the cat in the movie.
