JADE is an interesting erotic thriller where the murder mystery is the least important part of the movie where the vital clue is exposed minutes into the movie and ignored for the most of the movie as it introduces detours and red herrings. The movie has been out of print on DVD and blu-ray. Now the extended director's cut makes its debut on blu-ray and 4K (with the only physical release of that version was on VHS). The director's cut features more nudity, more character bits, and an extended ending. One can argue which cut is the best. Some prefer the pacing of the theatrical cut while some like me love the extended cut better. JADE is also a movie you can consider to be a neo noir.

FINAL ANALYSIS: I'm glad JADE is finally back in print on blu-ray and getting a 4K debut. It is far from perfect, but I am glad it has a release finally.
