David Lynch's DUNE is an interesting cinematic vision with a great cast, excellent costume and production design, a great score by Toto, and some interesting ideas. Unfortunately the theatrical version is a compromised compressed version of DUNE while the extended TV cut is an editing nightmare that over explains things and puts shots out of context and get the editing order wrong. I have watched this movie several times over the years whether it was on TV, VHS, or blu-ray. I do wish David lynch would go back to edit a proper director's cut which he has been reluctant to do (but recent comments does give a small hope he would be willing to do it). David Lynch was the first director who was able to direct the acclaimed Frank Herbert sci-fi novel with a few changes from the book and having to fit the movie within a certain running time per Universal Studios management at the time.

FINAL ANALYSIS: This there disc limited edition set is the ultimate blu-ray set on David Lynch’s Dune minus the Spicediver fan edit (which gets the extended version right according to the script).
