PERDITA DURANGO is very bonkers. It has violence, rape, ritual sacrifice, a truck of frozen fetuses being transported to
a cosmetics company, and more in this dark and stylish vision from director Alex de la Iglesia. The movie is based on the
novel 59 Degrees and Raining by Barry Gifford who also helped write the screenplay. I can see why Quentin Tarantino loves
this movie. Fans of Tarantino may dig this movie once they can get past the more gruesome aspects of it. PERDITA DURANGO
isn't a movie that everyone will stomach.
Perdita Durango (Rosie Perez) gets involved with Romeo (Javier Bardem) when they meet at the Mexican/ United States border
and they quickly fall for each other. Perdita suggest to Romeo they should kidnap and murder someone. During the course
of this adventure, Romeo also gets a job from his cousin to transport baby fetuses across the border to a cosmetic company
in Las Vegas. Unknown to Romeo, he has an FBI agent (James Gandolfini) following him. Perdita and Romeo kidnap an annoying
college couple that they rape and plan to sacrifice for one of Romeo's ritual sacrifices at his Mexican ranch.

FINAL ANALYSIS: PERDITA DURANGO is a cult film with darkly comedic aspects and some very gruesome material. It isn't
for the faint of heart or the ones who want their main characters to be good guys where you will root for the bad people in
this movie. Some great interviews are on the blu-ray. The Director's Cut looks great in 4K UHD. Too bad they didn't include
the cut American theatrical cut as an extra.
