THE GREEN KNIGHT is a modern interpretation of the classic English Medieval tale based on the Arthurian legend. Gawain (Dev Patel) is not yet a knight and he takes the Green Knight up on his challenge one Christmas. He strikes a blow and has to meet up with the green Knight in a year's time for the Green Knight to return the blow. THE GREEN KNIGHT follows Gawain's journey to meet up with The Green Knight. I love the movie, but I wish writer/ director David Lowery would have made a complete ending (since this is the second adaptation of the tale and neither follow the ending of it). The score and visuals are top notch along with a good cast. He has all the elements set up for the reveal of the original story, but he decides to leave us hanging and go his own way. So I think the movie is fantastic except I would have told him to fix the ending if I was a producer on this project.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
Three featurettes are included on the disc which looks into various aspects of making the movie-
BOLDEST OF BLOOD & WILDEST OF HEART: MAKING THE GREEN KNIGHT
PRACTIONERS OF MAGIC: VISUAL EFFECTS

DVD of the movie in standard definition and code to stream and download a digital copy of the movie

FINAL ANALYSIS: THE GREEN KINGHT is a great revisionist take on the old Arthurian tale about Gawain and the Green Knight, but David Lowery fumbles it with the ending.
