STARGATE UNIVERSE introduced new things and following up on earlier ideas in the second half of the first season.  The show lets storyline arcs ride for a few episodes and even come back to threads from just a few episodes back.  The crew of the Ancient ship, the destiny, aren't the right people for the job.   They make plenty of mistakes.   Colonel Young has to deal with leaving Rush behind on a planet and it opens up the crew to a new threat in the form of an alien race who want the ship.   Then the crew faces the truth about who betrayed the Icarus stargate base location (from the pilot episode).   The three episode season ender sets the stage for a cliffhanger to be resolved in October on SyFy.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

Audio commentaries for every episode.  Some with the crew and others with the cast.  The crew commentaries provide more insight than the cast ones.   I wish they would mix up the cast and crew on the commentary tracks together.  Kino Diaries provide little extra moments not seen in the episodes.

DESTINY SML fetaurettes:

The various featurettes look at the making of the show through behind-the-scenes looks at various episodes and interviews of the creators by the cast members.    It is a series of excellent featurettes.

FINAL ANALYSIS:   STARGATE UNIVERSE continues to be my favorite Stargate series as it continues to mark out a path different from the previous shows and make us feel what it would be like to be trapped on the other side of the universe.  I wish STAR TRAK: VOYAGER went in the direction STARGATE UNIVERSE is going.    An excellent series for all sci-fi fans to check out.
