The third season of HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL brings more story variations for Paladin, a hired gunfighter. We even learn a
little about his past from his days hunting Tigers in Indidia (TIGER) and his days in the Army in the Civil War (THE UNFORGIVEN,
THE PROPHET). Also actors famous for other roles have guest starring roles (Ken Curtis, James Coburn, Harry Carrey Jr). HAVE
GUN, WILL TRAVEL is enjoyable as previous seasons. The writers find ways to come up with 39 twenty-five minute episodes.
VIDEO: 1.33:1 (Full Frame)
The episodes presented int he third season set look in worse shape than the episodes in the second season DVD collection.
For the third season set, aliasing and artifacting are noticeable. The episodes themselves exhibit a variety of dirt, scratches,
and other damage. Some episodes look better than others.
AUDIO: English 2.0 Mono
Subtitles: Spanish, English Captioning
Dialogue is clear, but a little noise is present (it is most noticeable during the title and end credits).
EXTRAS: The only extras are production notes for various episodes focusing on the guest actors, writers, directors, Richard
Boone, and a little about the episode itself or the character of Paladin. One of the more interesting tidbits is that Gene
Roddenberry (who wrote several episodes of this show) once considered James Coburn for the Captain of the Enterprise on STAR
TREK.
FINAL ANALYSIS: Despite the print damage evident in many epsidoes, I hope Paramount does a little clean-up work for the
Complete Fourth Season of HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL. The third season set is for fans of HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL and western TV
series.
