Sydney Bristow has had a rough time in the previous three seasons, and the fourth season of ALIAS continues her adventures
as the kick ass superbabe secret agent. She is in for another shake-up when her new boss is Sloane, her former enemy, and
work with her half sister, Nadia. She learns her Dad killled her mom (or did he?), meet another of her mom's sisters (each
sister of Irina Derevko makes Irina seem like a saint), and a guy who thinks he's Sloane. Soem fans think the first season
was the best and ALIAS had lost steam by now, but I loved season 4. It improved as it went along and continued to weave in
the Rambaldi artifacts and the prophecy regarding Sydney.
Due to ABC changing the order of episodes, the proper order should be:
1- APO 1 2 - APO 2 3 - The Awful Truth 7 - Detente 4 - Ice 6 - Nocturne 8 - Echoes 9 - A Man
of His Word 5 - Welcome to Liberty Village 10 - The Index 11 - The Road Home 12 - The Orphan 14 - Nightingale
15 - Pandora 16 - Another Mister Sloane 13 - Tuesday 17 - A Clean Conscience 18 - Mirage 19 - In Dreams
20 - Descent 21 - Search and Rescue 22 - Before the Flood
VIDEO: 1.78:1 (Anamorphic Widescreen)
AUDIO: English 5.1 Dolby Surround
Subtitles: Spanish, English Captions
Video looks nice and sharp while the audio has clear dialogue with atmospheric mix from the music.
SPECIAL FEATURES: Audio commentaries were recorded for APO 1 and 2, ICE, and NOCTURNE. Jennifer Garner is around for APO
1, but she has to leave during APO 2 to shoot the season finale. Too bad they didn't do audio commentaries for any of the
later episodes, but none of the commentaries are that great. The rest of the extras are on disc seven which consist of bloopers
featuring Jennifer Garner breaking out into laughing during many scenes, 11 minutes of deleted scenes cut from various episodes,
and seven featurettes.
The featurettes are:
CHAT WITH JENNIFER GARNER, THE GUEST STARS OF SEASON 4, MEET MIA: SYD'S LITTLE SISTER, MARSHALL'S WORLD, DIRECTOR'S DIARY,
ANATOMY OF A SCENE, and AGENT WEISS' SPY CAMERA. Most of the featurettes are fluff. The extras on LOST Season One were so
much better.
FINAL ANALYSIS: If you're a fan of ALIAS Season 4, you will want to own it on DVD. I do wish they would could back to the
case designs for the earlier seasons.
