Whether you hate the Hellraiser movies beyiond the first two, HELLRAISER: HELLWORLD is an improvement over the dreadful
HELLRAISER: DEADER. Make no mistake HELLRAISER: HELLWORLD doesn't come close to the greatness of HELLRAISER and HELLRAISER:
HELLBOUND. Lance Henrikson makes the most of his part as the host of the Hellworld party, but the five young actors have woefully
underdeveloped characters. HELLRAISER: HELLWORLD could have ended up as HELLRAISER the slasher film. A couple of twists late
in the movie save it from that fate. Due to the underwritten characters being written so poorly and coming off as a bunch
of self absorbed jerks, I have no empathy for any of them. I was more interested in the fun Lance was having as his character
or looking at beautiful female actress Malonga Desiree (who isn't one of the five annoying actors).
HELLRAISER: HELLWORLD starts with a the funeral of a friend who has committed suicide after he plays the online game known
as Hellworld, teh same game the other five friends also play. Then it is two years later as all five friends go to an Hellworld
party after cracking a certain part of HELLWORLD. They are greeted by the a man (Lance Henrikson) who says he is the ultimate
Hellworld fan. He weaves the story that the hosue is called Levithan House which has been home to nuns and the mentally ill.
The friends are sucked into their own desires and fears dudring the night of the party.
VIDEO: 1.85:1 (Anamorphci Widescreen)
AUDIO: English 5.1 Dolby Digital
Subtitles: French, Spanish, English Captions.
SPECIAL FEATURES: The so-so feature audio commentary is by Director Rick Bota, Writer Joel Soisson, Special Makeup Effects
Designer Gary J. Tunnicliffe, and Exec producer Nick Phillips.
TICKET TO HELLWORLD: A BEHIND-THE-SCENES LOOK has interviews with the crew and a couple of cast members (Katheryn Winnick
and Kherry). Behind-the-scenes footage takes a look at the make-up effects and the production itself. They also talk about
the change to cold weather by the end of the shoot.
FINAL ANLYSIS: Despite HELLRAISER: HELLWORLD being an improvement over HELLRAISER: DEADER, I hope they go back to what
made the first two movies great if they ever make another HELLRAISER sequel. Rent it.
