THE KILLER INSIDE ME is a twisted noir. It reveals a killer (a deputy for a small Texas town sheriff department)
who unravels as the film goes on. You think he is going to stop, but he kills
and manipulates to cover up what he has done. He first strikes up a relationship
with a woman whom is involved with the son of the guy who owns half of the Texas
town, Century City. He throws her into his own twisted plan which starts a domino effect in his life as he races to cover
up his mistakes and give into the killer instincts that the woman ignited in him.
Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson are great in this film while Casey Affleck plays off the cold and twisted arrogance of
his character. They love him no matter what type of guy he is. Affleck’s character seems to be a nice guy, but he is just a killer underneath the surface. It was hard to watch the violence he inflicts on the women. I have no problem with violence in films, but the way the violence is done in this film may make
you squirm.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
The three making of featurettes are three
3 minute interviews with Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba, and Kate Hudson which amount to promotional fluff mixed in with interview
sound bites from the actors. Also the theatrical trailer is on the disc. Too bad the disc didn’t have an audio commentary.
FINAL ANALYSIS: THE KILLER INSIDE ME is a twisted film noir. It
is a solid film, but I wish the DVD had some meaty extras.
