THE SATAN PIT- A fantastic conclusion to THE IMPOSSIBLE PLANET. Yet it doesn't have the full power as part 1. Still it
is one of the best two parters of the new series.
LOVE AND MONSTERS- The worst episode of the show ever (worse than any episode from the classic series). You don't want
to watch an episode about a guest character as the main person. You want to watch the show with The Doctor and Rose. I think
it might be more exciting seeing Benton selling used cars. Even worse, the episode feels like it belongs to some other TV
show. Maybe this will tell those that think "Russell T. Davies is God" something- he isn't a perfect writer. One of the biggest
weaknesses of the new series is when you focus on the people who are fans of the Doctor. Then you have the lame monster designed
by kid as part of a contest held by a kid's show called Blue Peter.
FEAR HER- The worst episode ever is followed by another bad one. I just wonder what the writers were drinking when they
thought this episode was perfect for Doctor Who fans. Maybe little kids will love this episode. Other than that, it just blows
and should have never been produced. A kid is possessed by an alien creature who makes the little girl draw pictures of people
who end up getting sucked into some imaginary world and disappear from the real world.
ARMY OF GHOSTS (Part 1 of 2)- Torchwood comes into full force and yet they seem so lame. They come off as geeks full of
themselves. The head of Torchwood fawns over the Doctor and that is the weakest part of the episode. I am glad the Cybermen
from the two parter earlier in the season return (RISE OF THE CYBERMEN/ AGE OF STEEL). ARMY OF GHOSTS does kick off a great
two parter and I just wish they would have found a way to connect the TORCHWOOD spin-off series with this season 2 finale.
Nice to see a returning face from earlier in the season besides the Cybermen.
DOOMSDAY (Part 2 of 2)- A big showdown as Cybermen go toe to toe against the Daleks. I just wish it wasn't so one-sided.
DOOMSDAY is a great finale. You have a little sacrifice not in the way you think and you wonder where Rose will go from here
(even though it is Billie Piper's last episode as Rose). More characters return (Rose's Dad from the alternate universe).
The second season started out better than the first season, but it has two of the worst episodes ever right before the
season finale. It is a mixed season and I hope the next one will be even more fun since a new companion is brought into the
mix after the Christmas Special (THE RUNAWAY BRIDE). THE IMPOSSIBLE PLANET and THE SATAN PIT is the best two parter of the
season while the Cybermen are at their best for their 40th anniversary. Since it doesn't look like Cybermen (unless this universe's
counterparts show up) or Daleks will be involved in season 3, I wonder what old foes will return to fight against the Doctor.
