24 SEASON 6 PREMIERE- 6:00 A.M. - 10 A.M.

DVD Review by David Blackwell

DETAILS: 187 minutes, first 12 minutes of episode 5

VIDEO: 1.78:1 (Anamorphic Widescreen)

AUDIO: English 2.0 Dolby Surround

Subtitles: Close Captioning

STUDIO: 20th Century FOX/ Imagine Entertainment

RELEASE DATE: 1-16-2007

Season 6 kicks off with a bang and leaves your mouth hanging after the first four episodes are over. Jack Bauer is back after 20 months in a Chinese prison and it takes the shocking events at the end of 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. to kick him back into good old Jack Bauer who is ready to kick butt and shoot the bad guys. Terrorists have their hands on five nuclear suitcase bombs and one goes off at the end of the fourth episode. Nothing is the same again as you wonder how would you feel if you saw a mushroom cloud rise up in the distance. It makes the events leading up to it seem like nothing. Too bad only the first 12 minutes of next week's episode are included because I'm ready to watch more of season 6.

Chloe has hooked up with her sleazy boyfriend again (who used to sell women's shoes) and she also cares deeply for Jack. One regular character is shot in episode 4 as Jack is forced to do it because it must be done so the terrorist who wants to end the attacks can help CTU stop the other terrorist who wanted the first guy killed off by CTU in the first place. I do think Wayne Palmer (David's brother) is way out of his league as the President of the United States and he needs to get rid of the slime that works for him. That one guy is up to no good. I think Karen Hayes is married to Bill (James Morrison), head of CTU. Megan Gallagher shows up for the first four episodes, but now I wonder when the producers of 24 will get Lance Henrikson to appear in 24 (since so cast and crew of Millennium have worked on 24). I can't wait for more episode of season 6, but I wish this disc had a play all option. If you missed the first four episodes, buy the DVD. Even if you seen them, a $10 off coupon for any of the first 6 seasons is included. It isn't bad at all-  you can relive the first four hours of season 6 right now.
