Saya (Gianna) is a half-human/ half-vampire who has hunted vampires for 400 yeras in search of the powerful vampire Onigen who
killed her father. Her hunt brings her to 1970s Japan. She ends up saving Alice McKee, the daughter
of a US Air Force General, first inside a school on a US military base. Saya lives for revenge and kill
the demons to get to Onigen.
BLOOD THE LAST VAMPIRE is a live action adaptation of the BLOOD+ anime. The film mixes English with Japanese dialogue.
It tells the story of Saya from her origins to the end of her quest. Gianna rocks as Saya in the latest film in
the attractive girl kicks evil butt/ horror action film genre. The action sequences are the drawing point
of this film. The back story and characters could have been more developed. BLOOF THE LAST VAMPIRE could
have used 20 to 30 more minutes develop the story.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
Two making-of featurettes are included on the DVD-
The Making-Of featurette features interviews with cast and crew while BATTLING DEMONS goes into detail about the stuntwork
including behind-the-scenes training footage and the bumps that Gianna went through while filming (including hitting a camer
mounted ona crane).
The theatrical trailer is missing (a trailer for BLOOD+ is on the disc).
FINAL ANALYSIS: BLOOD THE LAST VAMPIRE is one to see for the action. Just wish the story was more fleshed
out.
