What is MULHOLLAND DRIVE trying to say about identity? Can we lose our identity or get
sucked up by our identities too much? Is identity in the eye of the beholder? MULHOLLAND DRIVE turns
into a lesbian love story in true David Lynch fashion and you know it will end in tragedy in some way. Is the
blue box a symbol or a key to reconnect to lost identity or just a door to nightmare?

David Lynch said he was glad that MULHOLLAND DRIVE wasn't picked up as a series. He said
it gave him the freedom to take MULHOLLAND DRIVE into new directions as a movie. Now how about that Director's
Cut of Dune, Mr. Lynch?
