TERMINAL starts out slow as this weird neo-noir turns into a movie that uses twists to further the plot and character development during the movie. The production design is top notch as they shot the movie in Budapest. TERMINAL makes several illusions to ALICE IN WONDERLAND. The plot is hidden in metaphors and sometimes it is quite mad as some viewers will be turned off by the way the movie unfolds. Margot Robbie steals the show where Mike Myers is quite odd in this movie as the limping train station custodian. Writer/ director Vaughn Stein may develop a cult following as he makes more movies, but his film writing needs to be more clear or he needs a different writer than himself. I don’t question his vision and direction. TERMINAL starts off too slow and it is one of those movies that could use more push at the beginning.

TERMINAL revolves around a series of characters. There is a school teacher (Simon Pegg) with a terminal disease and there are two small time gangsters who get a job to kill someone (but they must wait for the call to do it). The one person these three people have in common is a waitress named Annie (Margot Robbie) who makes a bet with a mysterious man named Mr. Franklyn to get all of his criminal contracts if she can get rid of all the competition, but she also wants him to find someone for her.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
THE CAST OF TERMINAL- interviews with the cast of TERMINAL about their characters
BUILDING THE WORLD OF TERMINAL- a look at the production design and costume design of TERMINAL. They dressed up abandoned buildings and used a sewage treatment plant in Budapest for the production
FROM CONCEPT TO CREATION- a comparison between the sketches and the final product- mostly a concept/ final of the title sequence

A photo gallery is also included on the DVD, and previews for other releases form RLJE Films (including THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM) play before the main menu

FINAL ANALYSIS: The only things that save TERMINAL are the production deisgn, the cast, and the plot twists. The only negative is the muddled storytelling that starts off too slow.
