Picking up soon after the first JOHN WICK
movie ended, former hitman John Wick tracks down his stolen car. The marker
he used to get out of the
assassin life is called upon by Santino D’Atonio, but he first refuses to and
finds his house destroyed. He takes the
one last job of killing Gianna D'Antonio, Santino’s sister. John
Wick flies to Rome
to do this job as he expects betrayal might wait for him once he completes this
last job.
JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2 ups the body count and
outdoes the action of the first film (some impressive action sequences
especially the bit in the exhibit or mirrors and light). Ruby Rose is
impressive as the deaf mute killer
while Common is sometimes underused as John Wick’s other rival. This
sequel does expand on the world
established in JOHN WICK and it even gives a little bit more on Wick’s
past. The new cast members play the
parts as best as they can and to service the action in the sequel plus it is
nice to see Laurence Fishburne in another movie with Keanu Reeves (maybe we can
get Carrie Ann Moss a part for a third John Wick). The climax sets the stage
for a third (and maybe even final) chapter in the series. If you liked the first
one or a fan of action
movies, JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2 is an action film you should watch. I hope the
third movie will get made soon.
