SAFE HOUSE works due to Denzel Washington's character, rogue agent Tobin Frost, and his interplay with rookie CIA agent Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds playing a character who has no relation to BURN NOTICE's Michael Weston).  Weston is tasked with bringing Frost in after a team of people kill the CIA interogation team at a sfae house in Cape Town.  These men want a list of information taht Frost has obtained to sell to the hioghest bidder.

You have actors who are invested in their characters in this film against the backdrop of South Africa.  SAFE HOUSE has a really high contrast and saturated color look to it that works with the intensity of the film.   It does look interesting on Blu-ray even though some of the dark scenes can appear a little too grainy.   In teh end, the film probably wouldn't have worked as good if you didn't have Denzel Washington delivering a top caliber perfomance.

FINAL ANALYSIS:   SAFE HOUSE is a film that yet again shows how great an actor Denzel Washington is.
