Lisa (Abigail Breslin) and her family were murdered in 1986 on the day before Lisa’s 16th birthday.   Lisa and her family have been living the last day of their lives for a long time until Lisa wakes up and realizes that she died.   She starts to connect with her living counterpart Olivia and must help Olivia (and Olivia’s family) befall the same sinister fate that has claimed so many including Lisa.

HAUNTER is a unique take on the haunted house tale where the script provides some fresh twists like having it start out as a mystery for a dead person to figure out and having her be able to connect through objects of the dead.   Olivia finds a way to connect with Lisa through Lisa’s necklace.   Also it is interesting to see ghosts haunt other ghosts as this movie unfolds like a mystery.   Director Vincenzo Natali directs another unique movie (he directed other movies like SPLICE and CUBE).

The Behind The Scenes featurette on HAUNTER features interviews with the cast, the director, and writer in what comes out to be a well made and informative 20 minute making-of featurette on HAUNTER.
