ERRORS OF THE HUMAN BODY is a very tense thriller as it follows the decline of Canadian geneticist Geoff Burton still suffering from the loss of his infant son.  He is invited by Rebekka, his former intern, to work at a genetics facility in Dresden, Germany where she is working on a human regenerative gene which could have saved his son from Burton’s Syndrome.  Geoff discovers the work that Rebekka has been doing on the Easter Gene, but he soon finds out another scientist seeks to still credit for the regeneration gene from Rebekka as he is courted by the two scientists to work on their rival projects.  Geoff fights his personal demons which may result in his own unraveling if he can’t come to terms with the secret from his past.

ERRORS OF THE HUMAN BODY is an impressive film from director Eron Sheean which does reflect early David Cronenberg while weaving a tale that is believable with grounding it in the world of science and genetics down to the  struggle between fame (to be published or perish) and develop science that can benefit humankind.  The visual and sounds along with the uneasy ambient music weaves one of the most interesting movies of the year from a script masterfully directed by Eron Sheean.  The actors involved remind me of other actors currently working in other films.  Michael Eklund channels the same acting prowess as Michael Fassbender while Karoline Herfurth reminds me of Franka Potente.   The rival scientist is just plain creepy down to looking downright ghoulish with his bald head and his gaunt frame in addition to his thirst to be published for regeneration gene work.

Q&A WITH CO-WRITER/ DIRECTOR ERON SHEEAN is a weird interview featurette as it uses stop motion for visuals while the director answers questions posed by a mutated creature with teeth (with a stop motion mouse posing for the director).

The Behind The Scenes photo gallery is more normal as it shows a series of stills from the production of the film that how some scenes were created in addition to the usual behind the scenes stills.

Also on the disc are the theatrical trailer and previews for other releases from IFC Films.

FINAL ANALYSIS:   ERRRORS OF THE HUMAN BODY is a tense genetic thriller that will also be appreciated by fans of early David Cronenberg films.  I do wish they included more proper making-of extras on the DVD though.  Eron Sheean is a director to watch out for.
