DOCTOR WHO saw a few changes in season 18 as John Nathan Turner took over as producer of the show. Season 18 had a new tittle
sequence and theme tune, a new outfit for Tom Baker's Doctor, new companions being introduced during the season, and a couple
of companions leaving during the final Fourth Doctor season (including robot dog K-9 which John Nathan Turner and script editor
Christopher Bidmead hated as they found ways to get K-9 out of the story when possible). It is fun to revisit this old classic
season which I haven't mostly seen for more than 20 years. I saw KEEPER OF TRAKEN and LOGOPOLIS last during the 50th anniversary
of DOCTOR WHO when BBC AMERICA aired them in 2013. It is a season with some great stories and the production team doing
the best they can on production design, costume design, and special effects on a small budget.

FINAL ANALYSIS: If you're a fan of the show, this final season of Tom Baker's Doctor is a must own. It has a wealth
of extras making it one of the best TV on blu-ray sets for this year. I know some fans may have problems collecting these
sets because the seasons are being released out of order and others don't want to upgrade from DVDs they own to this blu-ray
set which has new extras and improved transfers. I say you should buy them to ensure the other seasons do get released even
though it is irritating the production team on the blu-ray sets is releasing the season sets on their own whim instead of
releasing them in order. I understand this since I know I would have loved to see the second season of the Fourth Doctor released
before his last season and more in order instead of the here and there release strategy. I do hear of tumors that season
17, season 10, and season 26 are being worked on for release for blu-ray and it remains to be seen which season they announce
for release next.
