Baby (Ansel Elgort) suffers from a constant ringing in the ears due to a car accident which killed his father and mother when Baby was a kid. He is a getaway driver who constantly plays music on various MP3 devices so he can drown out the ringing in his ears. He meets a waitress named Debora (Lily James) and falls for her. He thinks two more jobs for the mysterious kingpin named Doc (Kevin Spacey) will make him even with Doc after his debt is paid, but Baby soon learns it is harder to get out and breaking away from crime than he has ever imagined. He has to face off with the conflicting egos of the crime gang (Jamie Foxx, Jon Bernthal, Jon Hamm and Eiza Gonzalez).

BABY DRIVER is easily Edgar Wright’s best film as a director. It transcends the three wonderful movies he directed that starred Simon Pegg. It is an energetic action heist film with a soundtrack that drives many of the scenes. It is expertly directed with a great cast and fairy tale logic mixed in with a noir and musical sensibility. The music plays as another character in helping propel scenes in the movie and even evoke the emotions in some of them. Edgar Wright has created an instant masterpiece with BABY DRIVER. If you want a fun movie or even a great movie or a movie with a great soundtrack, you should watch BABY DRIVER. It is easily one of the best films of 2017.

Two audio commentaries- one with director Edgar Wright and the other with Edgar Wright and director of photography Bill Pope

Over 20 minutes of deleted and extended scenes including the original edit of the climatic scene and the original version of the jail sequence

45 minutes of featurettes on the making of BABY DRIVER:
THAT’S MY BABY: EDGAR WRIGHT- the origins of the movie
MOZART IN A GO-KART: ANSEL DRIVES- a behind-the-scenes look at Ansel learning to drive like his character in the movie
MEET YOUR NEW CREW: DOC’S GANG- a featurette on the cast and the characters they play
FIND SOMETHING FUNKY ON THERE: THE CHOREOGRAPHY- planning the scenes to get them to sync with the music tracks which were played on set
DEVIL BEHIND THE WHEEL: CAR CHASES- a behind-the-scenes look at the car chases of the movie
I NEED A KILLER TRACK: THE MUSIC- this featurette focuses on the music of the movie and how the sequences were made to fit the music

Animatics for select scenes, Ansel Elgort’s audition footage, and rehearsal run-through for the opening sequence, and costume and make-up tests for the cast in addition to the music video (“Blue Song” by Mint Royale directed by Edgar Wright that inspired the movie are included on this disc. You also get the complete storyboard gallery, three theatrical trailers and various TV spots for BABY DRIVER (which is a rare thing for a Sony disc since they usually don’t include the trailers for the movie on the same disc). You also get a code to stream or download a digital HD copy of BABY DRIVER

FINAL ANALYSIS: BABY DIRVER is one of the best movies of the year. It is very energetic and smart action drama with a great selection of extras on the blu-ray.
