Crunch Calhoun (Kurt Russell) is pulled back into a con game art heist by his brother Nicky (Matt Dillon).  The old team is brought back together and they make a plan to steal a priceless historical book with an Interpol agent snooping around as he is trying to get back a Georges Seurat painting that Nicky stole in Mexico.

THE ART OF THE STEAL is a good heist movie that turns into a con artist movie with a enough twists and tricks up its sleeve.  It may not be on the same level as NOW YOU SEE ME, but it is a worthwhile heist con movie to see especially for the cast involved form Kurt Russell, Jay Baruchel, and Terence Stamp.  I do have to take a moment and say Kurt and Jay own this film with her performances, but I do miss not seeing Kurt in many movies these days since I grew up on his films from the 1980s and 1990s.

Audio commentary with Writer/ Director Jonathan Sobol and Producer Nicholas Tabarrok

DOING THE CRIME: MAKING THE ART OF THE STEAL- a half hour making-of featurette that goes to how the script was written and bringing together the cast in addition to what was changed to make it better and what the cast thought of each other.   It has interviews with Writer/ Director Jonathan Sobol, Producer Nicholas Tabarrok, and the cast.

THE MAKING OF THE THEFT OF THE MONA LISA shows how that sequence in the film was created from filming against a green screen and adding in background elements

FINAL ANALYSIS: THE ART OF THE STEAL is a great film to watch for the twists and turns with a great cast to help pull it off.
