I was disappointed by many of the new shows that cropped up
in 2010. Most of them didn’t hold my
attention or didn’t stand out.
1.
STARGATE
UNIVERSE- The first season’s second
half wasn’t as good as the first half and then first half of season 2 fixed
everything to make it a series I still think is the best STARGATE series. I am sad it has been cancelled by SyFy
with
10 more episodes to air in 2011. I hope
the restructured MGM can make a couple of Direct to DVD movies like one to help
resolve part of the story that the producers were planning as a five year arc
and the second movie to resolve STARGATE ATLANTIS.
2.
THE WALKING DEAD- a new way to breath new life into the zombie genre.
3.
RUBICON- this slow burn series is like a 1970s spy thriller like 3 DAYS OF THE CONDOR. Too bad it didn't last.
4.
LOST- Whether you liked how it ended, the show was able to warp things up without being dragged to death.
5.
24- The Jack Bauer Power hour had some good episodes and some absurd stuff. Jack was put through one more series
of tests. The show didn't have the greatest ending of the seasons, but one hopes a 24 movie will get off the ground.
6.
FLASHFORWARD- V lived and FLASHFORWARD was cancelled- a series that was better and stronger in it's second half while
the first half dragged in places.
7.
MI-5- This series has better and more gripping plots than 24 sad to say. Season 8 is out on DVD this month with
season 9 expected in the summer.
