Alice (Milla Jovovvich) and her companions are betrayed in the battle in Washington D.C. by Wesker  (Shawn Roberts) and Alice is told by the Red Queen to head back to Raccoon City to release the anti T Virus to destroy the zombie menace which threatens to destroy humanity except for the elite of the Umbrella Corporation.  It is a race against time as Alice fights alongside Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) against Dr. Isaacs and the Umbrella Corporation to get back inside the hive where the release of the T virus began years ago.

RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER is a somewhat satisfying conclusion to the RESIDNET EVIL movie series.   It does offer a few cheats like starting with the aftermath of the battle which was set to begin in the cliffhanger that RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION ended on and then the movie ends with a possibility for more movies in the series (if this one proves to make lots of money and it is likely to come more from overseas markets than the US box office).   This sequel does come full circle and offers some great coherent action sequences.  On the downside (due to budget considerations and the script), a few characters don’t return from the last movie and you still don’t get a resolution on what happened to Claire’s brother.   Fans of the series will enjoy this entry in the series, but I wish it didn’t leave so many dangling threads left unresolved or resolved off screen.   Now I hope the next RESIDENT EVIL movie is a reboot of the series and is a closer adaptation of the video game series where the game characters take more of a central role.

FINAL ANALYSIS:  RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER concludes the series with an entertaining and action filled installment.  The featurettes are OK, but I think the movie is the best thing on the blu-ray.   I just wish they were able to include more of the characters from the previous two installments in this concluding installment in the series (I mean whatever happened to Ada Wong, Jill Valentine, and Claire’s brother).
