47 (Rupert Friend) is a genetically engineered assassin who is hunting for Katia Van Dees (Hannah Ware)- the daughter of Dr. Litvenko (the man responsible for creating the assassins of the Agent program which 47 was apart of).  Katia is looking for her father, but she seems to get help from John Smith (Zachary Quinto) whom is working for the Syndicate that wants to find Dr. Litvenko too.  HITMAN: AGENT 47 is a reboot of the Hitman movie franchise as I partly think 20th Fox made another HITMAN movie so they wouldn’t lose the movie rights to the property.  It does have lots of great action which is sometimes filmed too close, but HITMAN: AGENT 47 does have a who-who of genre actors you have seen in other movies and TV shows.  If you want an action movie where you enjoy the action and not too picky about the by-the-numbers plot, you will enjoy this HITMAN movie.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

Three deleted scenes which include more fighting between 47 and John Smith

Hit counter mode which basically shows how many people are killed during the movie

RE-IMAGING HITMAN- about re-imagining the Hitman mythos for the new movie while trying to stay true to the character

ULTIMATE ACTION: STAGING THE FIGHTS- a featurette on the action sequences which I wish was a more detailed behind-the-scenes featurette instead of a promotional featurette

Digital prequel comic (which is too small to read unless you have a very big screen) and MAKING OF THE COMIC Book featurette which is basically promotional fluff

Promotional Featurettes- AROUND THE WORLD (locations of the new movie), ULTIMATE HITMAN, WHO IS JOHN SMITH (all about Zachary Quinto’s character), CREATING KATIA VAN DEES, ICONIC (the filmmakers wanting to be true to an iconic video game character)

Promotional image and poster galleries

Two theatrical trailers and previews for THE REVENANT, THE MARTIAN, SPECTRE, HOMELAND Season 4, THE STRAIN Season 2, THE TRANSPORTER REFUELED, and MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS

FINAL ANALYSIS: HITMAN: AGENT 47 is one for fans of action movies
