ABRAHAM LINCOLN VS. ZOMBIES is a fun
action horror movie that is miles above the usual content produced by The Asylum.
It is sometimes tongue in cheek and even offers an alternate theory on why Lincoln
was assassinated. Above all, I just love to see Abraham Lincoln kill some
zombies. The zombie fighting scenes at the middle point of the movie are
the best parts of the film. In this low budget rip off to cash in on the
upcoming ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER (made on a budget much greater than what this film was made for- $150,000), Abraham
Lincoln leads a secret mission to claim a fort that the Confederates control in 1863 to get rid the horde of Confederate undead
that threatens to spread and claim the Union and Confederacy. He meets
a young boy named Theodore Roosevelt, an old flame (who is a prostitute), and Confederate General Stonewall Jackson (who believes
the zombies are sick people who can be cured). Among his team is the man who
might ultimately assassinate him.
SPECIAL FEATURES:
The six minute making-of featurette is
a quick behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film from various members in the crew.
I wish they had interviews with cast and crew about this film instead of how they made this featurette.
The blooper reel is something you want
to skip unless you want to hear a zombie rap.
Various trailers are included on the disc
including a 30 minutes trailer for this film and NAZIS AT THE CENTER OF THE EARTH.
FINAL ANALYSIS: If you want low budget thrills while waiting ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER (will be probably very visually
impressive), check out ABRAHAM LINCOLN VS. ZOMBIES to lay down your verdict whether it is an entertaining low budget zombie
killing romp.
