STARRING Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus), Woody Harrelson (Tallahassee), Emma Stone (Wichita), Abigail Breslin (Little Rock), Bill Murray

WRITTEN by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick

DIRECTED by Ruben Fleischer

ZOMBIELAND is a very enjoyable horror comedy.  It follows a guy named Columbus (he comes from Columbus, Ohio).   He hooks up with a guy from Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson).   Columbus follows a set of rules that keeps him alive (and you see them pop up on the screen when they’re in use).  Tallahassee is obsessed with finding Twinkies and killing zombies.  They hook up with a pair of sisters who first want to leave them behind.  The older sister, Wichita, wants to take to her younger sister, Little Rock, to an amusement park in California called Playland.

The scenes in Playland are like ADVENTURELAND only with zombies and plenty of zombie killing.  Too bad ADVENTURELAND wasn’t like those scenes more because I would have enjoyed that film more.   Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone steal the movie.    Also the scenes with Bill Murray are freaking fantastic and funny (even after what happens to Bill).  I still don’t like Jesse Eisenberg’s who cares slacker qualities.   He just comes off too much as an alienated youth for my tastes in the movies I have seen him in.  ZOMBIELAND is the most fun zombie rom com since SHAUN OF THE DEAD.
