Wreck-It Ralph is a bad guy in the video arcade game Fix-It Felix Jr. for 30 years.  He is tired of being the bay guy who gets no respect from his fellow characters in the game and he sets out on an adventure to get his own medal.  His adventures sets off a chain reaction of events as he strives to make a glitch of a girl named Vanellope get into the race in the Sugarland video game while Fix-It Felix is trying to get Wreck-It Ralph to come back to save the game.

WRECK-IT RALPH is a fun movie from Disney as it cleverly animates the characters depending on the graphics form each game and end up creating several different worlds in addition to featuring cameos from iconic arcade game characters including Qbert and a few of the Street Fighter characters.  It is a story of believing in yourself and fighting to belong in your world even if it is a video game world.  They also throw in a  love story too.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

PAPERMAN theatrical short is a charming and romantic animated short with no dialogue.

The deleted and alternate scenes show where the movie could have went like Wreck-It Ralph ending up and escaping from a space prison, Wreck-It Ralph ending up in a place where he could get all the medals he wants, and alternate adventures with Ralph, Fix-It Felix , and Vanellope.

BIT BY BIT: CREATING THE WORLDS OF WRECK-IT RALPH which goes behind-the-scenes with the director and animators of the film as they explain how they approached the creation of the worlds in the film.

The first three of four Video game commercials focusing on Fix-It Felix Jr, Sugarland, and Hero’s Duty are entertaining while the final commercial is a letdown (an alternate Fix-It Felix ad).

The Disney Intermission activates when you pause the film and you can view the GAMER’S GUIDE TO WRECK-IT RAPLH hosted by Chris Hardwicke as he takes a look at all the video game Easter Eggs in the film from popular video game characters that make an appearance (Street Fighter characters, Sonic the Hedgehog, QBert) to using the actual voice actors who voiced the video game characters who make cameos in the movie.

FINAL ANALYSIS:  WRECK-IT RALPH is a fun movie.  It shows you shouldn’t be afraid to be you and go for your dreams.  I do wish they had a few more extras since the extras on the Blu-ray only scrap the surface of the film.
