Tucker and Dale are two best friends on vacation at their mountain vacation house which needs lots of fixing up.   They're mistaken as evil hilibillies by a group of preppy college kids.  The college kids decide to take matter in their own hands when Tucker and Dale rescue one of the kids from drowing.  They think Tucker and dale have kidnapped her.  What follows is a series of bigger and bigger misunderstanding which results in a rising body count.  Tucker and Dale think the college kids are commiting suicide while the leader of the preppy college kids remembers all too well what happened to his parents who were murdered by evil hilibillies when he was very young.  His mother survived long enough to give birth to him.

TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL is a funny upside down take on the backwoods horror genre where the hilibilles are just good guys while the college kids misunderstand what is happening.    The deaths are impressive while the cast is impressive playing it straight which ignites some laughs.  If it wasn't for Alan Tudyk being in this film, I probably wouldn't have checked it out.    Tyler Labine is just as funny as Tudyk is in this movie.   I love how the hilibillies are just as good hearted and just as clueless as the Beverly Hilibillies while you do cheer when the preppy college kids die (because they are just really annoying which I think is the point).  If you're looking for a spoof of the horror genre, TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL is an excellent 88 minutes to enjoy yourself.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
The audio commentary is with director Eli Craig, and actors Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk.

MAKING OF TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL is a brief making of featurette while HDNet: TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL is a shorter version of the same featurette.

TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL: THE COLLEGE KIDS' POINT OF VIEW is an 18 minute version fo the film edited to just follow the college kids around as they witness all of the events happening in the film.
The theatrical trailer, a storyboards gallery, a slightly amusing outtakes reel are also included on this disc in addition to previews of other releases form magnolia Home Entertainment.

FINAL ANALYSIS:   TUCKER & DALE VS. EVIL is a nice way to make fun of the Wrong Turn films and all of the other horror films that take place out in the woods.   Prepare to laugh and marvel at the deaths.
