THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING chronicles the life between famous physicist Stephen Hawking and his first wife Jane Hawking along with the struggles they endure together when Stephen learns he has an advance neuron disease which will rob him of his physical functions eventually.  The doctors give Stephen two years to live, but somehow he is still alive today as THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING is the story of hope, the human spirit, and love.   Eddie Redmayne manages to make you believe he is Stephen Hawking and felicity Jones gives you a deep performance as Jane Hawking who falls in love and marries Stephen as she sticks with him as the disease affects their lives together.  Stephen becomes a famous physicist and he writes a book to help support his care.   This is a very moving real life drama with a great cast, script, and fantastic direction from James Marsh.

 

SPECIAL FEATURES:

Over ten minutes of deleted scenes with optional director audio commentary are a variety of interesting scenes cut for pacing reasons

 

BECOMING THE HAKINGS featurette has interviews with Eddie Redmayne, Felicity Jones, and director James Marsh in addition to the real Stephen hawking and Jane (Hawking) Wild where they praise the performances of the actors playing them

 

Feature audio commentary with Director James Marsh has the director discussing the story and where they had to change things from the real story for drama reasons.

 

FINAL ANALYSIS:   Great performances sell this true story about Stephen Hawking and his relationship with his first wife Jane along with showing how he fought to live and work no matter what condition he was in.   THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING is a great story about inspiration and hope you should watch.
