Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) and Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) are thrown into another complex mission for the secret British anti-terrorist organization Section 20.  With their boss Major Rachel Dalton (Rhona Mitra) seeming to be unstable, her boss Colonel Philip Locke (Robson Green) steps in to help Section 20 to track down infamous Middle Eastern terrorist al-Zuhari.   Everyone seems to trust the mole Leo Kamali (Zubin Varta) in the terrorist organization, but the mole’s constantly brings that trust into question as Section 20 tries to stop a major terrorist attack on the world.  Stonebridge and Scott’s mission are complicated by the dangerous women in their lives and the Russian mobster who wants them dead for the murder of his son (who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time).

I really loved season 2 of STRIKE BACK and the addition of fine British actor Robson Green adds to the cocktail of action, suspense, and shades of grey that runs through the storylines of season 3.  The action sequences are breathtaking for TV and the actors do a lot of their own stunts.  I will be sad to see STIRKE BACK go as the final season (Cinemax Season 4) is now airing on Cinemax.  The character arcs are well developed while questioning how far one should go to save the world from the terrorist threats around us.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

Three audio commentaries which make for a fun listen since everyone gets along so well-

Episode 21 audio commentary with Sullivan Stapleton, Philip Winchester, and co-executive producer/ director Michael J. Bassett

Episode 23 audio commentary with Sullivan Stapleton, Philip Winchester, Robson Green, Zubin Varla, and Dougray Scott

Episode 29 audio commentary with Sullivan Stapleton, Philip Winchester, Robson Green, Zubin Varla, and co-executive producer/ director Michael J. Bassett

The nine HOW TO STRIKE BACK featurettes are fun as actors Sullivan Stapleton and Philip Winchester talk about their experiences filming Cinemax Season 3:

DISC 1-

HOW TO ACT IN SHIT, HOW TO GET BEAT TO HELL IN COLOMBIA

DISC 2-

HOW TO HAVE FUN IN A DRUG DEN/ HOW TO GET YOUR BOSS KIDNAPPED/ HOW TO INTERROGATE WHILE DRIVING

DISC 3-

HOW TO GET YOURSELF ARRESTED/ HOW TO FIGHT NAKED WHILE ON FIRE/ HOW TO DANGLE FROM A HELICOPTER

FINAL ANALYSIS: STRIKE BACK delivers with another top notch action season and Robson Green is a welcome addition to the cast.   This DVD set is for fans of the series and action fans too.
