Steve Jobs is a visionary to some while others he just was part of the vision for the personal computer and the products that are so part of what Apple today like the iPad, iPhone, and iTunes. The lost interview features an uncut interview that was recorded back in 1995 for a show for a show called Triumph of the Nerds for UK TV and Oregon PBS, and it was thought lost until its rediscovery 17 years ago. The interview offers insights into the history of the personal computer and Apple from the point of view form one of the most recognizable leaders of the tech world. This interview was recorded during the time when he was exiled from Apple and running his own computer company (Next Computer which he later sold to Apple) before he would take control of Apple 18 months later when it was at the point of bankruptcy. This is the complete interview which only part of it was included for the final episode of Triumph of the Nerds.

SPECIAL EFATURES:

68 minute interview with Andy Hertzfeld- one of the original Macintosh programmers at Apple. He gives some good insight into the origins of the Mac computer and you could think the character of Kevin Flynn (from the movie TRON) was based on since the two share the same visions about computers and computer programs.

Audio interview with writer/ presenter Robert X Cringley- conducted by producer John Gau

Audio commentary with director/ producer Paul Sen and writer/ presenter Robert X Cringely. The audio commentary recounts the story of how the interview came about and other interviews they did for the series Triumph of the Nerds.  It gives insight on how it was to work with Steve Jobs and how they approached the interview.

Trailer for the movie and previews for other releases from Magnolia Home Entertainment

FINAL ANALYSIS: The lost interview is an insight into one of the smartest and recognizable tech leaders and the early days of Apple.
