PROMETHEUS TRAP starts with a crew being wakened to rescue the crew and cargo of a missing spaceship called Prometheus only to find out its cargo has a dangerous weapon which could erase Earth from time and space.

PROMETHEUS TRAP does have great production design except for the cyrosleep chambers which just look like a big clear plastic bag with a hose.  The direction and editing are fantastic for this low budget sci-fi movie.  The few effects of the spaceships are very crappy and underdeveloped CGI (and maybe model work would have done the job better).  I do wish the script was developed more and the movie ended on a less confusing note.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

The only extras are previews for other release from Phase 4 Films where it would have been interesting to see a behind-the-scenes featurette and/ or audio commentary on this DVD.

FINAL ANALYSIS:  PROMETHEUS TRAP has some really great production design, camera direction, and editing for one of the better low budget sci-fi movies I have watched this year.   The only downsides are the cheap CGI effects and no extras on the movie itself.
