NCIS season six started strong as it focused on why the team was broke up (and how they got back together).   You learn more about each character as each one gets at least one episode to focus on that character.   HEARTLAND features a flashback of Gibb's past and the appearance of his father.  The new season has LEGEND which is a two part pilot for the upcoming spin-off series, NCIS LA.  Then the end of season six sets the stage for another cliffhanger (as you’re left wondering how it will be resolved).

NCIS holds my attention more than some of the other crime dramas (I'm talking of the LAW & ORDER dramas except the UK version which I haven't seen yet).   It started as a spin-off years ago from JAG and this show has surpassed JAG by leaps and bounds.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

Audio commentaries for

BROKEN BIRD with David McCallum and James Whitmore, Jr.

BOUNCE with Michael Weatherly

TOXIC with Pauley Perrette and Sean Murray

Featurettes:

BODIES OF WORK (Disc 1)- a look at the corpses of NCIS and how they’re made.

STARTING WITH A BANG (Disc 3)-  discussion of the opening story arc of season six (writing, characters, using the season five cliffhanger to get people to return to see what happens in season six)

HORSIN’ AROUND (Disc 5)- behind the scenes of SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST

SEASON SIX: CRUSING ALONG (Disc 6)- the cast and producers discuss the character development in season six,  the important character episodes, and the sexual tension between Tony and Ziva (aka Tiva).

SIX DEGREES OF CONVERSATION (Disc 6)- Kevin Frazer (of Entertainment Tonight) chats with the cast about season six and NCIS’s popularity worldwide.

FEAR- an acoustic version of Pauley Perrette’s song, Fear

FINAL ANALYSIS:  NC IS continues to thrive with strong character stories and great writing.  I can’t wait to see what happens in season 7.
