Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum), his one armed brother Clyde (Adam Driver), and his hairdresser sister Mellie (Riley Keough) plan to rob Charlotte Motor Speedway during one of the races. They recruit the help of an explosive expert Joe Bang (Daniel Craig who basically steals the movie). After various mishaps, they pull off the robbery and wonder if the Logan curse will strike again in a movie that has a great heist sequence with only the first half hour being a little too slow in Steven Soderbergh's latest heist drama that combines thrills and comedy. Channing Tatum is tolerable in this movie, but I do think every other actor does a better job including the scene stealing Daniel Craig. Steven Soderbergh has put together a good movie which would have been a classic if it was tweaked a little more and had someone else than Tatum in the role of Jimmy Logan. Also the subplot with Jimmy's daughter sucks the soul out of the movie and I rather have more scenes with Clyde.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
The only extra on the DVD are two deleted scenes which you should only watch the first one for the excellent Joe Bang scene.

FINAL ANALYSIS: LOGAN LUCKY would have benefited from a leaner beginning and got to the heist sooner (or have more scenes with Joe Bang) because it is good heist comedy after the heist gets going. Maybe Steven was being too kind on his wife's script and he didn't offer a critical enough eye to rewrite it to focus it more on what works instead of what doesn't work. I do wish there was some making of extras and an audio commentary.
