Ig Perrish (Daniel Radcliffe) is the number one suspect in the murder of his girlfriend Merrin (Juno Temple).   Only a few people, his brother (Joe Anderson), a bartender tramp (Kelli Garner) and his long term friend/ lawyer (Max Minghella), believe he didn’t do it.  One morning, Ig finds horns growing out of his head and soon he finds people confessing their sins and give into their selfish and hidden impulses.   Ig discovers it is an effective tool as he searches for the one responsible for the murder of his girlfriend.

 

Alexandre Aja has rafted a good blend of genres in this adaptation of Joe Hill’s novel.  HORNS has a love story and mystery wrapped together with some horror elements as Daniel Radcliffe shows he is able to give himself to whatever roll he plays.  Juno Temple is lovely as Merrin while the rest of the cast is also good including Heather Graham as a lying fame seeking waitress.

FINAL ANALYSIS:  HORNS is a great blend of genres in a movie with a few great twists and a fantastic cast.
