GALAXY OF TERROR was one of two ALIEN rip-offs produced in the early 1980s by Producer Roger Corman. Great production design by James Cameron, good direction by Bruce D. Clark and 2nd Unit Director James Cameron, and a great supporting cast help boost this sci-fi horror B-movie which is let down by the script. GALAXY OF TERROR which should have had the title of FORBIDDEN WORLD takes from ALIEN and PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES (which ALIEN has been accused of ripping off). There is a powerful mystic alien being called the Planet Master. He instructs a military commander to command a mission to the desolate world of Morgathus on a rescue mission of a spaceship that crashed there. The crew of the ship is a group of misfits with their own emotional baggage. They find an alien pyramid on the world after they crash land their ship and find that the other ship has no survivors. They find the planet is terrorizing them and they must investigate the pyramid if they are to survive.

FINAL ANALYSIS: GALAXY OF TERROR has great production design, direction, and some interesting cast members who would find roles that they would be more famous for.. The making-of documentary is worth watching if you want to find out how the movie was made.
