Six people wake up on a starship with no memory
                                    of who they
are.  They go searching for those answers
which they may not like at all. They name each other by number (in the order of
when they work up from suspended animation).
The show opens with a  great
opening scene.  Also there are some great
                                    character moments for each character.
Lots of questions of who they are as the pilot lays a trail of bread
crumbs.  It does make me wish MGM
didn’t cancel STARGATE UNIVERSE, but Joseph Mallozzi may have a winner with
DARK METTER as long as they don’t screw it up with the episodes after the pilot
and a worry that it could get overshadowed by KILLJOYS which is another space
opera on the same night as DARK MATTER and DEFIANCE on SyFy’s new Friday
line-up. The characters of Two (boss lady pilot woman as played by Melissa O’Niel)
and Three (Anthony Lemke have to be my favorite characters of the pilot while
Four has a nice scene where he shows off that he knows how to use a sword. I am
not clear on how Five fits into the show while Zoie Palmer is in a post-LOST
GIRL role as the ship’s android and Roger Cross continues to get roles (proving
he is one of the more hard working actors today).  The spaceship set remind me
                                    of the STARGATE
                                    UNIVERSE starship

DARK MATTER’s pilot is the set up
for the show while I hope
episode 2 is the start of paying off what they set up in the pilot.  The ending
does lay some new info at the feet
of the characters as I want to know what they will do in the next episode due
to what they find out.   DARK MATTER’s
crew does remind of another show about space renegades and that show is called
                                    BLAKE’S 7.   Some great stars
are on the way including a
couple of famillair faces who were on STRAGATE ATLANTIS.   I
wonder if this is a BLAKE’S 7 for the 21st century and what kind
                                    of
mythology will Joseph Mallozzi will build for this TV show.  If you like DARK
