Best-selling author/ conservative Dinesh D’Souza had questions about Obama and he wrote two books examining the motives and history of United States President Barrack Obama.   2016: OBAMA’S AMERICA is based on the book OBAMA’S RAGE as Dinesh does an analysis of Obama’s own autobiography DREAMS OF MY FATHER.   This political documentary is a fascinating look at the personal history that shaped Obama into the man he is today.   It does make some conclusions that Obama is out to punish USA for the nation’s colonial sins as part of some third world Anti-Colonial feelings that his father had (a guy he hardly knew and only met once in person when he was old enough to remember Dad only to correspond afterwards).   2016 will be controversial and maybe even sacrilege with the conclusions and speculations that Dinesh puts forward about Obama, but he does use words from Obama’s own autobiography.   Whether you agree about the conclusions and analysis put forth by this documentary, it is a fascinating film that does come off as weak in the last 20 minutes (where Dinesh could have explained his arguments more and put out his case for where Obama might take the US if he gets reelected).

 

2016 is an interesting analysis of Obama’s past history and upbringing.  Many of the people in his life are communists or left wing anti-colonials, and some of them had their influence on Obama.  I know some Democrats are looking at this review and wanting to send hate mail about the documentary.  See it and make your judgment about it afterwards.   Dinesh does spend a good time in building things up about the Obama history and I feel the big failure comes to those last 20 minutes.     2016 mostly works as a political documentary and an analysis of Obama’s past.   I hope you make your own judgment on it after you watch it.  You don’t have to agree with Dinesh, but the facts presented do paint part of a bigger picture of who is the man who became the president of the United States in the 2008 election.   I am tempted to read the two Obama books by Dinesh and also take a look at Obama’s autobiography.   2016 is a documentary that will catch people’s attention because Obama has divided the nation’s point of view on what has been going on for the last four years and whether it is Obama is part of the problem.

I’m not even going to touch on the other controversial film about Obama called DREMAS OF MY REAL FATHER which gives a theory about his mentor frank Marshall Davis being Obama’s real father.   Also this review isn’t about the conspiracy theories surrounding his second term plans if Obama is reelected (but you will find the information about the stuff he has done which raises many questions already).

 

Whether you agree with the theories presented in 2016: OBAMA’S AMERICA, I do think it is a documentary that presents an interesting history of Obama’s family and his upbringing regardless of whether you agree or disagree with the theories presented in it.
